ISLAY SINGLE MALT

Despite having closed in 1983, Port Ellen is still one of Islay’s best-known distilleries. Relatively unknown while in operation, its reputation since closing has blossomed, with expressions commanding hefty hammer prices at auction. In 2017 owner Diageo announced plans to revive the distillery, undertaking painstaking work to recreate the distillery as accurately as possible, even employing former Port Ellen employees to assist in the project.
